Open to all in grades K-8 as of Spring 2013


Location: The Monmouth Chess School and Club, 51 Monmouth St. Red Bank, NJ 07701

Prizes: Trophies to top 5 in each of three prize sections Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8. Medals for 6th-10th.

Bonus Prizes: $50 Gift Certificate to 1st in each prize group (chess books, sets, boards, bags, clocks, scorebooks, etc.).

Format: 4 Rounds, Swiss System, USCF Rated, G/25; d5.  Played as a single section except that any group grades K-2, 3-5, or 6-8 with more than 16 players will play as a separate section.

Advance Registration: Mail entries to Dr. Koblentz, 9 Rimwood Lane, Colts Neck, NJ 07722. Provide player's name, USCF ID and $35 entry fee (checks only; no cash or credit card/telephone registration).

On Site Registration: 12:30 - 1:00 PM Sunday Oct 6. Entry Fee $45, Cash only for non MCS&C students.

Late Entries: Up until 2 PM, Sunday Oct 6, will receive a 1/2 point bye in Round 1

Boards and Sets Provided. Please Bring Clocks! Cell Phones Off!

Directions: From GSP Exit 109, East on Newman Springs Rd/Rte 520 ~ 1+ mile over first set of railroad tracks. Continue less than another mile to Broad St/Rte 35. Dunkin Donuts is on the right corner. Turn left onto Broad, crossing the railroad tracks. Continue North on Broad past the car dealership and supermarket to downtown Red Bank. Monmouth St, followed by White St are left turns off of Broad. Ample parking in the large lot between Monmouth and White. 51 Monmouth is a three-story brick building next to the Broadway Diner and across the street from the School of Rock. From The Red Bank Train Station, walk East on Monmouth St ~ one half mile to 51 Monmouth. If you are lost or late call 732-614-0748.
